Well
tonight was my every 3 week card game and maybe it was my poor play or
maybe it was something else, but I really did not like today's reviewed
wine. The 2006 Black Opal Chardonnay from Australia exhibited light
golden color in the glass but the nose was non-existent. I tried to pick
something up when it was first uncorked and was unsuccessful. I let it
warm a little in the glass, for about 15 minutes or so, but whatever
fruit it had was not showing up. I finally gave this one a taste and was
treated to a bland, thin tasting wine with too much acidity and a
burning finish. I only paid $6.15/bottle for this one so it was no huge
loss. Based on lack of any taste I gave this one 2 Corkscrews. I can't
recommend it and won't buy it in the future. It wasn't "pour it down the
sink" bad, it just had nothing notable about it. Sit Long, Talk Much,
Laugh Often, Drink Wine!
